How to pick the right mentor...
If you know me, by now you know I always have at least 1 coach.
But I do get rid of them as tiem goes on and my skills get better or I cant learn any more form them.
I realsied a while back a Mentor is one of the biggest shortcuts you can have.
Yes I still have to do the work.
But the work becomes much more powerful.
So I wanted to tell you what I ook for in amentor so it may help some of you.
1 - They must get or have gotten the results you want.
My latest mentor for example when I joined him Was NOT getting results - I was making more money than him. But I knew what he had done before and knew he was taking time out due to all the money he made.
If they havent got the results YOU want then how can they help you?
2 - They must synch with your ethics. For me it mus tbe some one who isnt just interested in making loads of money but soem one who really wants people to succeed and could understand my business model.
3 - It has to be some one you get along with. Too many people will join a mentor the day they get to know them. I take my time I choose my mentor. I watch what they do, see how they help, see they represent what I want to become.
4 - How good are they at actually selling ethically. If you didnt knwo you need to learn how to seel, the keyword is Affilliate MARKETING.
If they go around telling everyone "I cna shwo you how to make 10j a month with 2 hours of work" or " I can gaurnatee you will make 30k a month or refund you. (and no one ever gets a refund)... i sthis really the way you want to do things (it isnt for me).
5. - A tarck record. They must have a track record, ideally at least 3 people. The people I work with are expensive (60k per year) they dont have many students but they will have success stories.
6 - Approach them. Ask them if they have mentroing. Dont wait to to be sold too, YOU need to make the deicison and reach out to them then you will knwo it is the right choice and be the right commitment for you.
Hope these help if you are on the look for a coach....
If you are not, why not?
Its the biggest and most exciting thing you can do, and I can pinpoint the changes in my business down to when I got better coaches :-)
Ps. this isnt my coach, but the world tallest man at Ripleys...yes I am a midget.
